UCLA researchers have been working in the development of clean energy generator systems and they have recently developed a new transparent solar cell that is able to generate electricity while maintaining its transparent properties.
How does it works? According to UCLA researchers, it consists in a polymer solar cell (PSC) that is able to produce energy by absorbing no visible light and converting it into electrical current.
These findings create a wide variety of oportunities for portable electronic devices, smart windows and building integrated photovoltaics among other applications. (Yang Yang, UCLA Professor)
